As the Inhouse Legal Counsel specialist, you are responsible to assist to review, support, and secure the legal aspects of the businesses and operations in Ingka [Country] within the framework of working defined by Ingka Group Legal & Governance.

Essential competency Required:
• University degree in Law
• Qualified solicitor, NQ to 2 years PQE either in private practice or in-house
• Prior experience in commercial contracts or commercial litigation

Preferred (but not essential) experience:
• Prior in-house legal counsel experience and/or experience advising clients in the retail, FMCG, or Distribution sectors
• Data Protection experience is preferred although not essential


Responsibility to assist the legal manager with the review, support, and secure legal aspects of the businesses and operations in Ingka for the UK and Ireland (also applicable for bullets below):

• Cooperate and build good relations with stakeholders to secure mutually sustainable solutions.
• Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements and legal documents.
• Proactively support the management and other stakeholders in order to run the IKEA business and secure the rights and assess the obligations in order to reduce exposure to legal risks and optimize business opportunities.
• Active cooperation with Group Legal & Governance in order to secure alignment of country agenda
• Contribute to, and support the implementation of the Business Plan, development projects, and corresponding roadmap
• Develop and implement standard processes and ways of working for the legal area in the Ingka Group.
• Develop competence and provide training to relevant stakeholders.


Legal and Governance leads and secures the business from the legal & governance perspective and safeguards future opportunities by providing the business with expertise in relevant areas such as; corporate, agreements, litigations, legal compliance, and governance.

This position is full time, you will work 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The Service Office principal location is Hybrid working a minimum of 8 days per calendar month in the Wembley office and the remainder flexibly working remotely at home.
